NORFOLK, Va. – A man has died from his injuries after being hit by a truck Monday morning.
Police and paramedics were called to the intersection of Curlew Drive and South Newtown Road around 9:30 a.m.
According to police, the driver of a Toyota pick-up truck was making a left turn from Curlew Drive onto South Newtown Road when he struck a 65-year-old man who was in the roadway.
Paramedics took the pedestrian, identified as Vernon Calvin Hall Jr., to Sentara Leigh Memorial Hospital but he was later transferred to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with life threatening injuries.
Hall died Tuesday morning surrounded by loved ones.
There were no passengers in the vehicle and no other injuries were reported.
The Norfolk Police traffic fatality team is investigating the crash.
