Chesapeake Expressway to raise toll prices

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – A new toll rate for the Route 168 Chesapeake Expressway will go into effect on May 21 at 12:01 a.m.

The peak weekend toll rates will increase by $2. Peak weekends will run each weekend from May 21 to September 11.

The rate for standard cars (two axles) will be $8. Cars with additional axles will pay $9. Motorcycle rates are $2.67, 1/3 of the two axle vehicle rate.

Regular tolls and Chesapeake Expressway Discount Member tolls will not change at this time.

The toll for the Chesapeake Expressway must be paid in cash or an E-ZPass transponder. The expressway does not bill by plate.
