Norfolk cruise ship terminal to be renamed after Peter G. Decker Jr.

NORFOLK, Va. – The Half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center in Norfolk will be renamed after the late Norfolk attorney Peter G. Decker Jr. during a ceremony on Tuesday afternoon.

Mayor Paul Fraim and members of Norfolk City Council will announce the honor at 4 p.m.

Peter G. Decker Jr was a prominent figure in Norfolk’s growth and redevelopment. He was born and raised in Norfolk and was educated at Old Dominion University  and The College of William and Mary. He then spent his entire law career in Hampton Roads.

Decker Jr. died in 2012 after a four-year fight with cancer.
