New foal joins Corolla wild horse population

CURRITUCK COUNTY, N.C. – A new foal has been born into the Corolla wild horse population.

The Corolla Wild Horse Fund posted two pictures of baby and mama on Facebook Sunday afternoon.

The nonprofit group believes the foal is a girl, known as a filly, but they are not sure yet.

This is the second foal born in Corolla in 2016.

In their Facebook post, the group reminded people to stay as far away as possible from the horses and drive slowly and carefully on all sand roads behind the dunes.
