NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk Fire-Rescue crews helped get a woman out of the water at the Willoughby Marina.
On May 31 at 4:45 p.m., fire-rescue units were dispatched for a possible water rescue.
Crews conducted a visual search around the east and west side of the Hampton Roads Bridge
VDOT and Virginia State Police also assisted in the visual searches.
Coast Guard officials told the fire-rescue crews that a swimmer had been recovered near the shipping channel. Norfolk Police and Fire-Rescue teams met them at the marina.
The swimmer refused to be evaluated and was turned over to the police.
