NEW YORK – New York Mets third baseman David Wright received an injection Tuesday in hopes of alleviating some of the neck discomfort caused by a herniated disk in his neck.

The former Hickory High standout will wait until the weekend to see if the injury could land him on the disabled list. Wright missed his fourth consecutive game on Tuesday. The Mets have not discussed the next step if the injection does not improve Wright’s condition.
