Hiring Our Heroes Transition Summit helps military families find work in Hampton Roads

GREAT LAKES, Ill. (August 20, 2015) -- Recipients of the the Recruit Honor Graduate Ribbon prepare their uniforms in preparation for their upcoming graduation at Recruit Training Command. Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus approved the award to recognize initial accession enlisted personnel who demonstrate superior performance throughout basic military training in the areas of academics, physical readiness, recruit leadership and commitment to the Navy Core Values. Honor Graduates earning the ribbon will be authorized to wear it during the PIR graduation ceremony held on most Friday during the year. CHESAPEAKE, Va. – The Hiring Our Heroes Transition Summit is a chance for veterans, transitioning military, and military spouses to attend panels and discussions, talk to recruiters, and participate in a hiring fair and career forum.

The two-day event, on June 8 and 9, will feature speakers representing the Hampton Roads military community as well as employers, base leaders, and the US Department of labor, just to name a few.

The event is sponsored by ADP, Capital One, Lockheed Martin, and Verizon and is hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
