NORFOLK, Va. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will close Fort Norfolk to visitors from Thursday, June 9 through Sunday, June 19.
Fort Norfolk will reopen to visitors at 9 a.m. June 20.
Contractors are install a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit at the Waterfield Building at Fort Norfolk during the closure, and crane operations require a construction barricade at the fort.
Due to the installation, Fort Norfolk will not be open to visitors who wish to observe the Parade of Sail Friday or Harborfest fireworks on Saturday, June 11 from the grounds of the fort.
