SUFFOLK, Va. – Suffolk Fire & Rescue crews rescued a horse stuck in a three-foot ditch Friday evening.

The call came in at 6:49 p.m.

Rescue personnel responded to the 200 block of Babbtown Road in the rural Whaleyville borough.

The 39-year-old horse, named Effendi, was laying on his side in a ditch at the back of the property.

Crews were able to perform a technical rescue to maneuver the horse upright after almost an hour on scene.
