“Tigertails” get new Commander

NORFOLK, Va. –   Commander Daryl E. Trent was relieved as Officer Thursday at Norfolk Naval Station.

Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 125 (VAW–125) will now be lead by Commander Daniel R. Prochazka.

Prochazka entered the U.S. Navy through the Georgia Institute of Technology ROTC program and became a Navy Pilot in May, 2001. He has accumulated more than 3,800 flight hours, including 183 combat missions, in the E-2C “Hawkeye” and E-2D “Advanced Hawkeye” aircraft.

Trent’s next assignment is to the Joint Advanced Warfighting School, Joint Forces Staff College in Norfolk. He reported to VAW-125 in October, 2013 and served as executive officer before becoming commanding officer.

The Tigertails, with 125 personnel, operate the E-2D “Advanced Hawkeye” airborne early warning aircraft.
