NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk Fire-Rescue crews responded to a fire at a facility in the 2000 block of Springfield Avenue.
The call came in at 8:35 a.m. on Saturday.
When units arrived, they found a fire inside of a wall between two vertical columns in the back of the facility.
Firefighters opened the wall to expose any hidden fire. Fire officials say the fire was confined to one section of the wall between two vertical columns. The space had a buildup of trash and other debris.
The fire was extinguished and under control at 9:05 a.m.
According to William Tull with Norfolk Fire-Rescue, the fire came from a spark from welding work being performed at the facility.
There were no injuries.
