Komen Denver Race for the Cure took place today, October 3rd, 2010 under brilliant blue skies and great weather. Well over 50,000 men, women, and children turned out to take part in teh annual event. This year a special presentation was made by Susan G. Komen Founder, Ambassador Nancy G. Brinker, who's sister was Susan G. Komen for which the race is named. The race, which started and ended at the Pepsi Center, had three events: the 5K Co-Ed Run/Walk at 7:00am, 5K Co-Ed Walk at 8:00am and the Family 1-Mile Fun Walk at 9:00am. Seventy five percent of the proceeds from the Race support local breast health education, early detection screenings and treatment programs. Helen H. Richardson/ The Denver Post (Photo By Helen H.
