VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – On July 24, Virginia Beach’s Parks and Recreation Foundation (VBPRF) and J&A Racing will host Sunday RUNday, a family-friendly 5k at Mount Trashmore Park for their 60th anniversary.
The 5k will begin at 8 a.m. along with a Kid’s Fun Run at 9:30 a.m. and a Family Fitness Walk/Run, both one mile each.
Participation in the 5k is $20, $30 on-site. If you register before July 15, you’ll receive a free T-shirt as well.
Registering before June 30 gets you entered into a drawing for a $100 Parks & Recreation gift card – good towards a recreation center membership or other Parks & Recreation programs.
After the race Sunday, there will be a DJ, fitness dance party, lawn games, and food trucks.
In addition to the run itself, the VBPRF is offering multiple 5k trainings called “5 Weeks to 5k” led by race experts, J&A Racing. The training sessions are free, and no race registration is required to participate.
