PORTSMOUTH, Va. – A citizen caught some touching moments on camera as a Portsmouth Police Officer helped to calm a young boy.
When Officer Hawes noticed a mother having a hard time calming down her son, she asked if she could help.
Officer Hawes, a mother herself, held the boy and after only a few moments she was able to calm him.
The Portsmouth Police Department Facebook page stated:
“It’s times like these that bring joy to the hearts of police officers everywhere knowing that you have made a positive difference in someone’s life, even if it’s only in a small way.”
