NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Five K-9s working for the Newport News Sheriff’s Office will receive new protective vests.
On June 20, members with the Atlantic K-9 Vest Fund came to the Sheriff’s Office to measure Max, a black Lab; Bety, a Belgian Malinois; and Cooper, a bloodhound, for their gear.
The two other dogs were measured for vests paid for by a grant from the Police Association of Virginia earlier this month.
The vests should arrive within six weeks.
