VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – A transformer malfunction has closed the 2600 block of Sandpiper Road between Porpoise Lane and Tuna Lane.
According to police, a power-line exploded and set fire to the pole.
The fire has been put out. No injuries have been reported.
Traffic is being diverted because of multiple live power lines interfering with the roadway.
