NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Jennifer Heuneman, her husband, and their two young children were driving back to Chesapeake from Busch Gardens when she says someone threw a rock at her car.

She told News 3, she and her family were driving on Interstate 64, and saw a teenager throw a rock at her car.

"As we got closer, one of the kids pitched his arm backwards, and chucked a rock right at the windshield," she said.

The rock damaged her windshield and dented the roof of her car. It will cost her $1,000 to repair.

She said it made a noise that sounded like the crack of a baseball bat.

"When you got two kids in the back that are scared because they don’t know what’s going on, and all of a sudden mommy and daddy are panicking… it could have been a whole lot worse. Thank God it wasn’t," Heuneman told News 3.

She says she tried making a police report with Newport News Police and Virginia State Police, but each agency told her to talk to the other one.

Now, she just wants the kids caught, and to pay for her damage.

"I'm sure it wasn’t just our car that they hit. So maybe they need to do something to pay for the damages, or work something out to help alleviate the stress and frustration."
