HAMPTON, Va. – The Hampton School Board voted Wednesday night to not rename Jefferson Davis Middle or the Campus at Lee, an alternative school.
The vote was a unanimous 7-0 tally.
A school system spokesperson says the decision was based on feedback from two public hearings, as well as emails and phone calls in which people expressed the school board shouldn’t focus on the renaming issue.
