Downtown Tunnel

  • I-264 East: Downtown Tunnel open with alternating lane closures Wednesday, June 29 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning
  • I-264 West: Downtown Tunnel open with alternating lane closures Thursday, June 30 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning

MLK Freeway

  • 264 East/West: Single lane closure in each direction between Effingham Street and Frederick Boulevard Sunday through Thursday, June 26 through July 1 from 7 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following morning.Frederick Boulevard
  • Northbound/I-264 East: On-ramp full closure Sunday and Monday, June 26 and 27 from 8 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • Frederick Boulevard: Full closure near the I-264 overpass Wednesday and Thursday, June 29 and 30 from 8 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following morning.

I-64 Widening Project, Newport News/York County: Single-lane closures eastbound and westbound June 26-30 as early as 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning. All work will take place between Jefferson Avenue and Lee Hall, and one lane will remain open to traffic at all times.  Elizabeth River Tunnels/Martin Luther King, Jr. Freeway:  Please check Elizabeth River Tunnels website for the latest closure and detour information regarding the Downtown Tunnel, Midtown Tunnel and the MLK Freeway.

 Terminal Boulevard Resurfacing, Norfolk: Full directional weekend consecutive closures eastbound (traveling from Hampton Boulevard towards I-564) and nightly weeknight closures as follows:

        • June 24-27 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
        • Weeknights June 27-30 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.

 I-64 Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel: Alternating lane closures eastbound and westbound. One lane will remain open at all times:

        • Eastbound June 26-29 from 9 p.m. until as late as 5 a.m. the following morning.
        • Westbound June 28 from 9 p.m. until 4:30 a.m. the following morning.

 I-664 Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel: Alternating lane closures northbound and southbound as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:

        • Northbound/Southbound Alternating:  June 28-30 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
        • Northbound: June 27-30 from as early as 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
        • Southbound: June 26-30 from as early as 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.

I-264 Berkley Bridge, Norfolk: Night-time alternating lane closures as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:

        • Eastbound June 26 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.

I-64 HOV Reversible Roadway, Norfolk: The Reversible Roadway will be closed as follows. The ramps at the I-264 flyover and I-564 will remain open:

          • June 27 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

I-564 Eastbound/Westbound, Norfolk: Daytime and night-time single-lane closures as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:

          • Westbound June 26-29 from 9 p.m. until 4 a.m. the following morning at the I-564 West Runway Tunnel.
          • I-564 Eastbound on-ramp from Gate 3 June 27-30 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
          • Westbound June 30 from 7 p.m. until 4 a.m. the following morning at the I-564 West Runway Tunnel.

I-64 Eastbound/Westbound, James City County/York County: Alternating lane closures eastbound June 26-30 as early as 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning between Toano and VA-199 Lightfoot. One lane will remain open at all times.

I-95 Northbound/Southbound, Sussex County: Alternating lane closures northbound and southbound as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:

          • Southbound June 26-30 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Route 40 (Sussex Drive).
          • Northbound June 26-30 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. between Exit 33 Route 602 (St Johns Church Road) and Route 40 (Sussex Drive).

 I-95 Northbound/Southbound, Emporia: Alternating lane closures northbound and southbound as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:

          • Northbound June 27-30 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Route 58 intersection in Emporia.

 I-95 Northbound/Southbound, Greensville County: Alternating lane closures northbound and southbound as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:

          • Northbound/Southbound June 26-30 from 6 p.m. until 7 a.m. the following morning between Exit 4 Route 629 and Moore’s Ferry Road.

VA-31 Northbound/Southbound Jamestown Road, Surry County: Alternating lane closures June 26-30 from 8 p.m. to 3 p.m. Jamestown Scotland-Ferry to Sussex Line. One lane will remain open at all times.

 I-95 Bridge Replacement over the Meherrin River Southbound, Emporia: Consecutive single-lane closures southbound as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:

          • Southbound June 27-29 from 6:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning between Exit 13 and 11 at the Greensville County and Town of Emporia Line.

Route 301 Sussex Drive, Greensville County: Consecutive left northbound lane closure for bridge replacement June 23 through late summer on Route 301.

Route 680 over Stallings Creek, Isle of Wight County: Full consecutive closure on Route 680 over Stallings Creek for bridge replacement May 16 through June 2017.

 Route 621 over Passenger Swamp, Isle of Wight County: Full consecutive closure on Route 621 over Passenger Swamp for bridge replacement June 28 through June 2017.

 George Washington Memorial Highway (Route 17), York County: Crews are widening the road between Route 630 (Wolf Trap Road) and Route 706 (Hampton Highway). Daytime single-lane closures, from 9 a.m.to 3 p.m. and weeknight single-lane closures, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Expect traffic shifts and delays. NORTH BATTLEFIELD BLVD LANE CLOSURE

Southbound North Battlefield Blvd at Medical Pkwy. The Public Utilities Department will replace a sewer line in southbound lanes of North Battlefield Blvd at Medical Pkwy from June 15 to August 31.  The work will require various single lane closures.  Access to Medical Pkwy and Chesapeake Regional Healthcare will be maintained at all times.  Motorists should be alert to work crews, equipment in the area and possible delays.

TERMINAL BOULEVARD RESURFACING PROJECT

Norfolk, Va. – Full directional weeknight and weekend closures of Terminal Boulevard Eastbound (traveling from Hampton Boulevard towards I-564)

Full Directional Closure Work Hours:

8 p.m. to 5 a.m. weeknights
8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday on weekends

Construction on Terminal Boulevard Eastbound (traveling from Hampton Boulevard towards I-564) will continue every weeknight and weekend until crews complete all work in that direction. Crews will then switch over and begin work on Terminal Boulevard Westbound (traveling from I-564 towards Hampton Boulevard) where full directional weeknight and weekend closures will continue until construction is complete in January of 2017.

      • There will be no work on major holidays, and all lanes will be open during rush hour periods.
      • Traffic will be detoured using I-564/Admiral Taussig Boulevard and Hampton Boulevard.
      • Neighborhood access will be maintained via Diven St. or Meredith St. during full closures.
      • Access to Ruthven Road (Sewells Point Golf Course) will be maintained.
