NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Donnie Walton, aka D3, is a former gang member who now spends his time speaking on gang prevention.
Walton will be holding a frank discussion, where he explains his personal experiences with gangs and violence.
The event will be on July 12, at 6:00 p.m. at the at South Morrison Family Education Center.
Walton aims to teach people about who joins gangs and why, and how parents can help their children chose a gang-free life.
During the event, Walton will open up about his own experiences with gangs, family issues, being stabbed, losing his brother and many other experiences that he’s gone through.
Walton’s honesty about gang involvement and violence allows him to talk about why young people are drawn to join gangs and aims to help those attending to learn how to prevent gang involvement.
