Bishop Samuel L. Green, Jr., prominent world religious leader, television evangelist, and pastor of the St. Johns COGIC passed away Sunday morning, at age 89.
Bishop Green was an influential community leader and churchman who presided as Prelate of the Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction State of Virginia COGIC for over 44 years.
He also served as a General Board member for the COGIC, Inc. for over 25 years.
Bishop Green was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and attended Old Dominion University as well.
The Celebration of Life services will be held at Bethel Temple on Thursday. The viewing will being at 12:00 p.m., followed by The Local & State Service at 7:00 p.m.
The National Service will be Friday, at 12:00 p.m. and The Entombment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
