NORFOLK, Va. - A local dad is upset after he says his son walked at graduation without his Honors cords.
Nathaniel Butler said his son Antonio Butler had worked hard through high school and earned Honors recognition in his last semester of Senior year.
Butler said his son even went through graduation rehearsal practicing with the other Honors students.
A few days before Lake Taylor High School's 2016 graduation Antonio Butler had not gotten his cords. Concerned, his father reached out to Ms. Walker, the Senior sponsor, who assured him that Antonio would get his cords the day of graduation.
When the day came, Taylor watched his son walk across the stage without the cords.
He was not issued them until after the ceremony.
Butler went to the school the day later to find out what happened but is not satisfied with their lack of response.
