ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – Property, water, and sewage taxes will increase in Elizabeth City, according to the City Clerk.

The property tax will increase 1.5 cents which would be 64-65.5 cents per $100 for the 2016-2017 evaluation.

There will also be a 3% increase in water and sewer rates due maintenance that’s needed in water/sewer infrastructure.

For example, a customer using three thousand gallons of water will see a $12.36 increase per year and that same customer would see a $7.44 increase with sewer expenses.
