SUFFOLK, Va. – A tractor trailer loaded with steel overturned in the 4200 block of Holland Road on Route 58 Tuesday morning around 5 a.m.
According to a city spokesperson, 34,000 pounds of steel fell across the roadway following the incident.
The driver of the truck received medical treatment at the scene but was not taken to the hospital.
Both eastbound and westbound lanes were closed after the accident.
One eastbound and one westbound lane of the road were closed for several hours as crews cleared debris and moved the tractor trailer upright.
All lanes have since been reopened.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
