NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – A raccoon tested positive for rabies on Wednesday, according to the Peninsula Health District.
The raccoon was located around the 500 block of Lucas Creek Road.
Anyone having information regarding exposure to the animal is asked to contact the Health Department.
Exposure can vary from things such as bites, to contact with saliva and can affect you and your pets.
