NORFOLK, Va – Norfolk has been named the second drunkest beach town in America by wine blog Vinepair.
Virginia Beach also made the list, coming in at number 13.
Vinepair ranked locations from most to least drunk using blood alcohol content (BAC) levels.
The data was collected from June 1, 2015 to August 31, 2015 through BACtrack, a smartphone app that can wirelessly measure users’ blood-alcohol content levels.
The data was geolocated, which is how the study was tied to specific beaches across America.
Norfolk lost the ‘drunkest beach town’ title to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, which had a BAC level of .117. According to Vinepair, the average BACs were well over .1. Virginia Beach had an average BAC of .071.
