NEW YORK – Many people chow down on hamburgers and hot dogs on the Fourth of July, but to some people, it is a sport.

Thousands of people will flock to Coney Island Monday to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Nathan’s Famous by witnessing the annual hot dog eating contest.

Matt Stonie, the 2015 champion, will go head to head with world record holder Joey “Jaws” Chestnut in the main event.

In his career, Chestnut holds a record of eating 651 hot dogs with buns, while Stonie has competitively eaten 249.
