NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Peninsula Health District has lifted the swimming advisory for Hilton Park Beach.
Samples collected on Tuesday showed that bacteria levels in the water exceeded the State Water Quality Standards.
Thursday, tests allowed for the advisory to be lifted.
Recreational waters are monitored for bacteria throughout the summer swimming season.
