RALEIGH, N.C. – The June Millennial unemployment numbers for North Carolina have been released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

They revealed that a large percentage of the age group are struggling to find employment.

The analysis says that 12.5 percent of 18-29 year-olds are unemployed.

The data is non-seasonally adjusted and is specific to this age group.

The Generation Opportunity North Carolina State Director, issued a statement about the results.

“Millennials in North Carolina are being crushed by harmful economic policies coming out of Washington, which are making life more difficult for young people by stifling job creation and entrepreneurship. With youth unemployment at 12.5 percent, too many young men and women remain out of the workforce. If we embrace free-market principles, encourage innovation and challenge the status quo, we will see a stronger and more vibrant economy.”
