SMITHFIELD, Va. – Investigators with the Isle of Wight Sheriff’s Office received information that a burglary suspect may be involved in manufacturing methamphetamine.

Investigators received information about the location of possible stolen property taken from a Smithfield home.

On July 14, deputies executed a search warrant in the 300 block of Main Street.  They were not able to find any stolen property, but arrested 38-year-old Jeremiah Smith in connection with the burglary.

Investigators worked with the Sheriff’s Office and found the stolen property. They also found items associated with manufacturing meth in the home. However, there was no indication of a meth lab at the residence.

Smith was taken into custody again and charged with burglary and possession of methamphetamine.
