NORFOLK, Va. – The wife of a Navy sailor accused of making child porn spoke to News 3 about what she calls the heartbreaking experience.
Adam Hedden remains inside the Norfolk City Jail.
The Navy Sailor is facing 17 felonies, according to the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.
Court records state that Adam’s wife, Halley Hedden, found child porn images on his cell phone and brought it to the police.
“I want people to know that it was really heartbreaking to turn my husband in,” said Halley Hedden. But she said it was obvious that police needed to get involved.
Halley Hedden says the experience has been horrible and shocking.
Court records state that police got a search warrant for Adam’s personal computer and his apartment. The search warrant states police found multiple pictures and videos of child pornography, including him engaging in sexual acts with a 4 year old girl.
The 27-year-old is facing 11 felonies for possessing child porn and 2 counts for creating child porn, along with additional charges.
The Navy would not release any information but said they are supporting Norfolk Police.
“If you ever come across anything like this don’t be afraid to come forward because I know my husband isn’t the only one who lives a double life,” said Halley Hedden.
Adam Hedden declined to be interviewed by News 3.
He is being held without bond and his preliminary hearing is coming up August 22.
