Meteorologist April Loveland’s First Warning Forecast

***Heat Advisory is in effect until 7 pm for most of Eastern North Carolina. Heat index values will be between 105 to 110 this afternoon.***

Heat, humidity and thunderstorms….Your First Warning Storm Team is keeping a close eye on the thermometer and the radar today.

Scattered showers and storms possible this evening. Any storms that develop could produce heavy rain and gusty winds. Storms chances will diminish late once we lose the heat of the day. Partly cloudy skies late with lows in the mid 70s.

This weekend, all eyes will be on a frontal system to our west. It will move in and stall across our area, giving way to unsettled weather. On Saturday, we’ll see partly sunny skies, then scattered showers and storms by the afternoon and evening. Some of the rain could be heavy at times. Gusty winds are possible, too. Highs will be in the upper 80s. Rain chances will likely be highest on Saturday compared to Sunday. Still, a few scattered showers and storms are in the forecast for Sunday with highs in the upper 80s.  By early next week, highs rise back into the lower 90s.  Have a good weekend!

Tonight: Partly Cloudy. Scattered Showers/Storms (30%). Lows in the mid 70s. Winds: SW 5-10 mph.

Tomorrow: Partly Sunny. Scattered Showers/Storms (70%). Highs in the upper 80s. Winds: S/SE 5-15 mph.
