DOWNTOWN TUNNEL AND MIDTOWN TUNNEL CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE: Friday, July 15 to Friday, July 22

 I-264 East: Downtown Tunnel Single lane closure Monday through Thursday, July 18-21 from 8 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following morning.

U.S. 58 East: Midtown Tunnel Full weekend tunnel closure from Friday, July 15 at 8 p.m. through Monday, July 18 at 5 a.m. Westbound Open.

U.S. 58 East: Midtown Tunnel Full weekend tunnel closure from Friday, July 22 at 8 p.m. through Monday, July 25 at 5 a.m.

 I-264 East/West: Lane closures in each direction between Effingham Street and Frederick Boulevard:

  • Friday and Saturday, July 15 and 16 from 8 p.m. each night until 8 a.m. the following morning.
  • Monday through Thursday, July 18-21 from 8 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following morning.

London Boulevard/U.S. 58 East: On-ramp full closure from Friday, July 22 at 7 p.m. until Monday, July 25 at 5 a.m.

Frederick Boulevard North: Full closure between Deep Creek Boulevard and Turnpike Road Friday, July 22 at 7 p.m. through Monday, July 25 at 5 a.m.

HAMPTON ROADS WEEKLY LANE CLOSURES REPORT: For the week of July 15, 2016 through July 22, 2016

 I-64 Widening Project, Newport News/York County: Single-lane closures eastbound and westbound July 17-21 as early as 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning. All work will take place between Jefferson Avenue and Lee Hall, and one lane will remain open to traffic at all times.  Elizabeth River Tunnels/Martin Luther King, Jr. Freeway:  Please check Elizabeth River Tunnels website for the latest closure and detour information regarding the Downtown Tunnel, Midtown Tunnel and the MLK Freeway.

 I-64 Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel: Single-lane closures and alternating lane closures eastbound and westbound. One lane will remain open at all times:

  • Westbound July 17-19 as early as 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • Eastbound/Westbound July 18-21 from 9 p.m. until as late as 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • Eastbound July 20-21 from 9 p.m. until 4:30 a.m. the following morning.

 I-664 Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel: Alternating lane closures northbound and single-lane closures southbound as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:

  • Southbound July 18-19 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • Northbound July 19-21 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
  • Northbound July 20-21 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.

US-17 James River Bridge: Daytime single lane closures northbound and southbound as follows. One lane will remain open to traffic at all times:

  • Northbound July 19 from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
  • Southbound July 20 from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

I-564 Eastbound/Westbound, Norfolk: Daytime and night-time single-lane closures as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:

    • I-564 Eastbound July 20 from 5 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. between Terminal Boulevard and Norfolk Naval Station Gate 3A & 3.

 Terminal Boulevard Resurfacing, Norfolk: Nightly weeknight closures eastbound as follows:

  • July 15-18 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • Weeknights July 18-21 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.

Military Highway Continuous Flow Intersection, Norfolk: Single-lane closures northbound and southbound as follows. One lane will remain open to traffic at all times:

    • July 10-15 from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning on Military Highway between the I-64 overpass to Elizabeth Avenue.
    • July 17-21 from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning on Military Highway between Elizabeth Avenue to Robin Hood Road.

I-664 Northbound/Southbound, Suffolk: Intermittent stoppages northbound and southbound July 17 from 12 a.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning. Traffic stoppages will last up to 20 minutes at a time just past the Hampton Roads overpass.

I-64 Westbound, Hampton: Single-lane closures westbound July 18 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning between Hampton River Bridge and I-664 Interchange. One lane will remain open at all times.

I-64 Eastbound, Hampton: Single-lane closures eastbound as follows. One lane will remain open at all times. Also, two ramps will be closed as follows:

  • July 18-21 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning between Magruder Boulevard and Mercury Boulevard.
  • The on-ramp from Magruder Boulevard to I-64 eastbound will be closed July 18-21 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
    • The I-64 eastbound off-ramp to Mercury Boulevard will be closed July 18-21 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.

I-95 Southbound, Greensville County: Alternating lane closures southbound as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:

    • Southbound July 18-21 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning near Route 629 and Moores Ferry Road.

VA-31 Northbound/Southbound, Surry County: Alternating lane closures July 17-21 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Jamestown-Scotland Ferry (Rolfe Highway) to Surry County line. One lane will remain open at all times.

 I-95 Bridge Replacement over the Meherrin River Southbound, Emporia: Consecutive single-lane closures southbound as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:

    • Northbound July 17-21 from 6:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning between Exit 13 and 11 at the Greensville County and Town of Emporia Line.

 Route 301 Sussex Drive, Greensville County: Consecutive left northbound lane closure for bridge replacement June 23 through late summer on Route 301.

Route 680 over Stallings Creek, Isle of Wight County: Full consecutive closure on Route 680 over Stallings Creek for bridge replacement May 16 through June 2017.

 Route 621 over Passenger Swamp, Isle of Wight County: Full consecutive closure on Route 621 over Passenger Swamp for bridge replacement June 28 through June 2017.

 George Washington Memorial Highway (Route 17), York County: Crews are widening the road between Route 630 (Wolf Trap Road) and Route 706 (Hampton Highway). Daytime single-lane closures, from 9 a.m.to 3 p.m. and weeknight single-lane closures, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Expect traffic shifts and delays. CHESAPEAKE ROAD WORK:  Battlefield Blvd/Medical Pkwy intersection closures Monday, July 11 through September

Public Utilities will close various lanes at the Battlefield Blvd and Medical Pkwy intersection over the next 10 weeks for the replacement of water and sewer lines in the area.  Next week the right-turn lane on Medical Pkwy will be closed.
