VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Virginia Beach Fire Department is looking to recruit Volunteer Support Technicians.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics states the number of volunteer firefighters in America is at its lowest level in a decade.
According to Virginia Beach Fire Department spokesperson Art Kohn, volunteer work at the department could lead to a paid career. Some of the Virginia Beach Fire Department’s Volunteer Support Technicians have been able to complete training and certifications and work their way into a career position.
