Fox that attacked two people in First Landing State Park tests positive for rabies

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – A fox that attacked two people and their pet dog has tested positive for rabies.

The fox was found on the beach path in First Landing State park at the 64th Street entrance on July 18.

According to the City of Virginia Beach, the fox is deceased.

Rabies is 100% fatal if left untreated. If anyone in your household, including pets, has had any exposure to stray or wild animals in the area within the past few weeks, contact your physician or the Health Department.
