The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a Heat Advisory which will go into effect Sunday at 11:00 am. The areas affected are southeast Virginia and Northeast North Carolina. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity can lead to heat-related illnesses if proper precautions are not taken. Expect heat index values from 105 to 108. Wear loose fitting clothing and drink plenty of water. The advisory will expire at 8:00 pm.
