NORFOLK, Va. – As thousands of people left the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, planes flying to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia were booked.

July 25 through July 29, Democrats will discuss not only the events of last week’s convention, but focus on where their party is heading.

Linwood Fisher, the Chair for the Norfolk City Democratic Committee, said he is excited to attend so he can support for Hillary Clinton. He said the party is united behind Clinton’s views on health care and education, but more importantly, they are largely against some of Donald Trump’s national security policies.

Clinton came to Hampton last month to talk about security concerns and Fisher said she is more open to keeping friendly alliances with NATO than Trump is.

Fisher said we should look at America like we look at citizens who walk the streets of Norfolk and work on healing the nation.
