The Washington Redskins are in their 84th franchise year in this 2016 season. It all started in 1932 when they were known as the Boston Redskins. The franchise moved to Washington D.C. in 1937.
News 3 is in Richmond for the Redskin’s 2016 training camp. All the players currently practicing won’t be on the final team once they cut it down to 53 players at the end of preseason.
Head Coach Jay Gruden is in his third season with the Redskins. Last season he led the team to clinch the NFC East. This was the first time the Redskins won the title since 2012. General manager Scot McCloughan must have been pretty happy with that.
