RICHMOND, Va. - 13 is usually a number you'd like to avoid, but for former Deep Creek star DeAngelo Hall, he's embracing it! When we asked how he felt about this season's training camp, he said "I feel like it's taking me back to my younger days," says Hall.
The cornerback turned safety is looking to have a productive season after missing five games last season with a right toe sprain, and transitioning to safety late in the season. The transition between the two is "a different world", Hall says, but it's one he feels he'll be prepared to make.
"I'm in there asking more questions than some of the rookies, so, I'm always an attention to detail type of guy. I want to make sure I understand every situation I might get put in and I try and go through those reps mentally before I even step out here on the field."
With the addition of Josh Norman, it gives Hall a chance to focus on the whole field, rather than one specific person. "I'm becoming the quarterback of the defense as opposed to the receiver that just wants the ball."
Embracing his enlarged role as a vocal leader, and lucky season number 13.
