NORFOLK, Va. – Applications for Norfolk residents seeking cooling assistance are due on Monday, August 15.
Cooling assistance helps low income households pay for repairs or replacement of cooling equipment and the electric bill to operate cooling equipment.
To be eligible for the program, the maximum monthly gross income for a one-person household cannot exceed $1,287. For a household with four people, the maximum monthly gross income should be $2,633.
Cooling Assistance is part of the Energy Assistance Program, which is under the Virginia Department of Social Services.
