Democratic Vice Presidential candidate Tim Kaine speaks in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. – Democratic Vice Presidential candidate Tim Kaine returned to Richmond Monday for what his campaign is calling a “Homecoming Rally”.

The former Richmond Mayor and current Virginia Senator is campaigning in the commonwealth for the first time since accepting his party’s nomination last week in Philadelphia.

Kaine spent the weekend on a bus tour with running mate Hillary Clinton through Ohio and Pennsylvania. The Democratic ticket is hoping to win support from working class voters who many political analysts believe are sympathetic to Republican Donald Trump’s message on the economy.

Virginia is also considered a swing state, one of ten the two campaigns are likely to focus on between now and election day. Trump campaigns in Northern Virginia tomorrow, while his running mate, Indiana Governor Mike Pence, will appear Thursday in Hampton Roads.
