CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Chesapeake’s first Kroger Marketplace store officially opened to the public on Wednesday, August 3.

The store is located in the new Greenbrier Square shopping center just north of I-64, off Battlefield Boulevard.

The grand opening started at 8 a.m. with a line that wrapped around the building. The first 500 customers on Wednesday were offered a free bag of breakfast items, including eggs, bread and strawberries.

For the next 13 days after the grand opening, the store will be giving out a free item to the first 250 customers each day, starting at 8 a.m.

The shopping center will also be home to Chesapeake’s first Dick’s Sporting Goods and Field & Stream stores, along with a Five Below and a Home Goods. Those stores are all expected to open over the next month or so.
