VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Wells Fargo Bank at 699 Independence Boulevard was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday.
According to police, a man presented the teller a note demanding money while displaying a handgun.
After obtaining money, the suspect fled the scene on foot.
Virginia Beach Police caught the man a short time later.
Marcus Algenia McCall, 46, has been charged with Robbery, Use of a Firearm and Entering a Bank while Armed. He was being held in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.
On June 14 McCall was sentenced to 18 years behind bars with 12 years suspended. He will serve a total of six years.
