YORK COUNTY, Va. – The bookkeeper at Bruton High School has been arrested for five counts of felony embezzlement and one count of misdemeanor embezzlement.
Investigators from the York County-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office began an investigation on June 13, 2016.
Investigators say 53-year-old Charlene Flood-Liggon of Newport News stole several thousand dollars between December 14, 2011 and April 5, 2016.
Flood-Liggon was arrested and charged on August 3.
According to the York County Poquoson Sheriff’s Office, the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be pending.
