GLOUCESTER COUNTY, Va. - The Gloucester County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help regarding multiple burglaries that happened between July 7 and August 8.

According to the Sheriff's Office, about 12 burglary reports have been filed in the areas of Providence Road, Hayes Road, Hickory Fork Road and Brays Point Road. There have also been reported burglaries in the Guinea, Ware Neck and Naxera areas of the county.

Most of the homes were broken into during the day. In most cases, no one was home at the time of the burglaries.

The thieves have been targeting electronics, jewelry, firearms and cash.

The Sheriff's Office has increased patrols during the suspected peak times of the home invasions. Deputies are asking residents to report anything or anyone out of the ordinary to help catch the burglars.

Investigators do not believe these incidents are related to a recent animal cruelty case in Gloucester, when someone entered a residence and decapitated the homeowner’s pet dog.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office at 804‐693‐3890. Callers may also provide information via Crime Stoppers at 1‐888‐LOCK‐U‐UP.
