DEEFIELD BEACH, Fla. – A woman is in the hospital after after authorities say she was bitten by an alligator.
The incident happened Friday in northwest Broward County.
According to Wildlife officials, the 49-year-old woman was in an area only accessible by boat when she was attacked by the gator.
The woman is currently in critical condition at Broward County Hospital.
Rescue officials say she was bitten on the hand at fish camp.
The gator nearly amputated her hand as she reached into the water.
