Virginia Beach, Va. - More than 100 paraplegics and quadriplegics ripped the tides at Grommet Island Park on Saturday. Life Rolls On and Braunibility hosted the 11th annual "They Will Surf Again" event. Volunteers helped the surfers get onto their surf boards and ride waves all day.

"If you look around us, there's smiles everywhere. There are folks here who never thought they could surf. And I want to prove people wrong that they can," says event member Raul Pernites. "There is life beyond paralysis."
