Crews respond to fire at coffee company facility in Suffolk

SUFFOLK, Va. -A coffee company warehouse caught fire Tuesday night.

Crews responded to the 1300 block of Progress Road in the Wilroy Industrial Park around 9:25 p.m. on reports of a fire.

The building that caught fire was reportedly a Massimo Zanetti facility.

According to the Battalion Chief, they located a fire in one of the coffee roasting hoppers.

The fire was contained to the one hopper, it’s contents, and the piping.

About 70 to 80 employees were evacuated from the facility with no injuries reported.

Crews are removing the contents of the hopper to ensure the fire is out once it’s brought under control.

The value of the destroyed contents is unknown at this time.
