Dead raccoon found near Regent University tests positive for rabies

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – A dead raccoon found near Regent University has tested positive for rabies, according to the Virginia Beach Department of Public Health. The raccoon was found on Tuesday.

If anyone in your household, including your pet, has had any exposure to stray or wild animals in this area within the past few weeks, please contact your physician or the Health Department at 518-2700, between the hours of 8:15 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
