Newport News, Va – The 911 emergency telephone lines in Newport News were out of service for over four hours Friday.
911 phone service was restored around 9:30 a.m.
Anyone needing emergency assistance called 757-247-2580.
Verizon is currently working to determine the cause of the outage.
