VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Wednesday was day 2 of witnesses in the murder trial of Michael Hines.

A Forensic team member with the Virginia Beach Police Dept. and the medical examiner who examined Crystal Stevenson's body were called to the stand.

Michael Hines is on trial for second degree murder after police say he pulled the trigger, striking Stevenson in the chest.

The Forensic scientist spoke on a necklace that Stevenson was wearing that was recovered at the scene. She also described a shell casing and DNA from the early morning of April 5, 2015.

Police said the crime scene on Gallery Ave. was outside a house where a party was being held the night Stevenson died. Police say alcohol was involved and there was an argument that led to the shooting.

As the prosecution presents picture and video evidence to the jury, the family of Stevenson and Hines wait anxiously in the courtroom.
